Saturday morning. I slept in, sort of. We woke up to Puck going into a siezure. This time he was on the bed with us, which was good because it was easy to keep him from bumping his head on anything. Bad because (as is usually the case with his siezures) he lost control of his bladder and weed on the bed. It's a fair exchange, I think. The assy part is that he had another one about thirty minutes later. This one was smaller (maybe thirty seconds), but still. He's never had a cluster before. I don't like it, and I think this means we are going back to the vet next week for more tests (which he absolutely hates). Poor doggy. He's being all restless now. We are keeping him in the office with us so we can watch him for a bit and so that he is away from the cats, one of whom is pretty freaked out right now by this whole siezure business.

Before Seizure #2, I was going to bitch about the fact that there are BUGS in my pantry. I don't know why. It's had nothing but dry goods in it. I threw away anything that was open already, and we've got just bought groceries in every nook and cranny in the kitchen that ISN'T the pantry right now. I'm going to have to tackle that chore in a bit, after I've had more coffee.

There's also dog hair everywhere. Court's dog, Russian, and Puck were both boarded at the vet's last week while we were out of town, and both came back shedding like sonofabitches. I brushed Puck last night, but there's already a thin layer of black doggie hairs coating the carpets, the furniture, even my bed. So that's on the roster today, too. At least it's not just me- Russian seemed to be shedding worse when I was at Courtney's house- but I have to wonder about the temperature in the boarding facilities. I'm hoping Puck's just spoiled and accustomed to our level of AC and that they were conservatively keeping it at around 78. I almost don't want to know. They said he did fine there, though. I'm glad he seized at home with us instead of around strangers.

On a lighter note, Ryan got a Dreamcast right before we left town, and we've been having a grand time with it. Sat up playing DOA2 last night for a long time. Kinda helped out to alieviate the distress over the strange Tekken shortage in Oxford (which I believe I bitched about a month or so ago. Someday, I will discover how to link to specific archive posts. Until then, if you don't keep up, you just don't get to know).

Sitting here taking a breather from another long day of advising (not as bad as yesterday, though) and I realized it was Friday...

But there's no Friday Five today so I'm doing one from two weeks ago. (I can if I WANT to, dammit.)

Here goes:

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from? I've got Scottish and Welsh on my paternal side, and German and Cherokee (I think. I've been told Cherokee, but I've also been told Sioux, which is ENTIRELY different. Considering the region, I tend to believe the former more.) on my Mom's side.

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit? Scotland, of course. I actually have visited there, but I'd love to go back and spend more time. I've never been to Wales, but I'd like to visit that area, too.

3. Which would you least like to visit? Why? Germany. I don't actually know why. I guess its because I don't really "feel" very German. It's not that I don't want to go to Germany (I'd love to go anywhere), it's just not on the top of my list.

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage? Nothing specific. I have Celtic pride, but it isn't a once-a-year thing or anything like that. Although I usually stop and take a minute on May 1st or Halloween. But nothing big, and nothing special. I don't feel like I need to do anything showy to represent my heritage- just being myself is good enough.

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)? I would imagine that would be my American Indian ancestors, since they are native to the land. I really don't know about the rest of it. I want to say somewhere between Great Great and Great Great Great on the rest of it.

May I just say that today sucked. Transfer advising again. And I know I said that there were no classes before, but now there really aren't. Not to mention that, although the appointments were supposed to be in 30 minute slots, here is how my appointments looked:

1:00 -
1:00 - (yes. I had two one o'clocks. The fuck?)
1:20 - (cuz I'd be done with the others, right?)
1:30 -
2:00 -
2:20-
2:30
3:00
3:15 - (they got confused, I guess)
3:30
4:00
Plus that guy that I just now took (at 6:30, after finishing up with my 4:00 appointment).

Now I'm going to go and gorge myself on Chinese Buffet. Cuz I deserve it.

I'm back. After much hellacious driving and very, very little sleep I am returned. Did you miss me?

I meant to post an "I'm going away for awhile and I'll be back" entry and forgot. And I did try to post something while I was gone, but my little sis has AOL (EVIL EVIL EVIL) and it did something weird and knocked itself offline. I can't really stay on her computer for more than about 10 minutes before the Fury overtakes me and I have to walk away before she no longer has a computer because I busted the monitor with my fist.

In case you're wondering though, the trip was great. The driving part kinda sucked. And there hasn't been much sleeping since sunday. I'm at work (and I didn't even get HOME until this morning), and I am counting down the minutes until I can leave, go pick up my dog, and then go to bed (174 to go). Attempting to be articulate right now is kind of killing me, so I think I'm going to stop. But can I just say "yay, home!"? Because I'm so feeling the "yay"s.

(....170.49 to go...)
Beware of rambling, babbling, sillyness, really long yet grammatically correct sentences, and occasional bouts of wisdom.
